A big THANK YOU to the members of our Youth Ministry who participated in their second annual Walk for Hunger earlier this month.  This enthusiastic group raised over $1,200 for our parish food closet.  The Walk for Hunger was featured in the Warwick Beacon.

During this Lenten season the Church invites us to renew our hearts and lives through prayer, study, fasting and works of charity in the hope of experiencing the redemptive power of Jesus. Our activities and programs are designed to assist us in entering into the spirit of this sacred season.

Lenten Devotions will take place on Monday evenings at 7 pm.

• Monday, March 4 — Reconciliation Service
• Monday, March 11 — Stations of the Cross
• Monday, March 18 — Tenebrae Service
• Monday, March 25 — Stations of the Cross

Our next Bible Study will be held on Tuesday, March 12 at 7 pm.  We will discuss the topic “Caring for the Poor as a Moral Mandate” as part of our “Where’s That in the Bible?” series.

As part of our Lenten almsgiving, our Social Outreach Ministry is again asking for donations of household items and toiletries for the Rhode Island Family Shelter, the only temporary emergency family shelter in Kent County.  Items are due by Palm Sunday, March 24.

Our Youth Ministry is sponsoring a Walk-a-Thon on Saturday, March 9 at 11:30 am.  Proceeds will benefit our parish food closet.  The event is open to youth of all ages.  Refreshments will be served.

There will be no 4 pm Mass at St. William Church on Saturday, February 9.

The diocese has issued a statement regarding Mass attendance this weekend.

If the Warwick public schools are closed due to snow, there will not be a 9 am Mass.  Walking through the parking lot to the door of the church can be dangerous even if the lot has been plowed.  We want everyone to be safe.  Thank you for your understanding.

Please join us on Saturday, February 2 at 5 pm in the parish center for a “Souper Bowl” soup supper to benefit our parish food closet.  During Super Bowl weekend, while many will be filling up with junk food, we need to remember how many people struggle each day to put food on the table for their family.  The meal will include soup, salad and bread.  Tickets are $5 per person and are available at the rectory during the week or after Masses the weekend of January 26-27.
